Terms of sale
Last updated 17 September 2026. These terms apply when you order from Tara's Bakes, a registered home bakery in East Float Quay, Birkenhead, Wirral.
Ordering
You can check out as a guest or with a Tara's Bakes account. An order is only accepted when we confirm the items, the total, the date and how to pay. We bake to order in small batches, so we may have to say no if a flavour has sold out or the Friday list is full.
For the Friday bake, order by Wednesday 9pm. Celebration trays and larger boxes: at least a week ahead.
Prices and payment
Prices on the menu are a guide and include any VAT if it applies. You may pay now at checkout (guest or signed in) or wait for confirmation and pay by bank transfer or cash on collection. Card payments are taken by Stripe.
Collection and delivery
- East Float Quay residents: free collection from the ground floor, Friday 5–8pm. We message the exact spot when we confirm.
- Everyone else: free collection from Birkenhead, or local delivery across Wirral for £2. We arrange a window when we confirm.
- Please collect in the window we give you. Milk cakes are perishable and need a fridge.
Cancellations
Because we buy and bake to your list, we cannot refund an order once we have confirmed it, unless we cannot fulfil it. If we have to cancel, we refund anything already paid.
Allergens
Our kitchen handles milk, egg, wheat, soya, peanuts and tree nuts. We cannot guarantee any bake is free from traces of these. Every box goes out with a full ingredient and allergen label. Tell us about allergies in your order before we confirm. If you have a serious allergy, this kitchen may not be suitable.
Once you have the box
Please check it before you leave, or as soon as it is delivered. Milk cakes must be refrigerated and eaten within three days. Brownies, blondies and cookies keep five days in an airtight tin. After handover, storage is your responsibility.
