Terms of sale
Last updated 19 September 2026. These terms apply when you order from Tara's Bakes, a registered home bakery on the Wirral.
Ordering
You can check out as a guest. An order is only accepted when we confirm the items, the total, the Friday and a 5–6pm, 6–7pm or 7–8pm window. We bake to order in small batches, so we may have to say no if a flavour has sold out or the Friday list is full. Guest orders can be looked up later at Find an order with the email and 8-character reference.
For the Friday bake, order by Thursday 9pm London time. Celebration trays and larger boxes: at least a week ahead.
Prices and payment
Prices on the menu are a guide and include any VAT if it applies. You may pay now at checkout as a guest or wait for confirmation and pay by bank transfer or cash on collection. Card payments are taken by Stripe.
Collection and delivery
- If you live in the building: free collection in a Friday 5–6pm, 6–7pm or 7–8pm window. We confirm the slot when we accept the order.
- Everyone else: free collection from Birkenhead, or local delivery across Wirral (postcodes CH41–CH49 and CH60–CH63) for £2. We need a street address and a valid Wirral postcode.
- Please collect in the window we give you. Milk cakes and the cheesecake are perishable and need a fridge.
Cancellations
Because we buy and bake to your list, we cannot refund an order once we have confirmed it, unless we cannot fulfil it. If we have to cancel, we refund anything already paid.
Allergens
Our kitchen handles milk, egg, wheat, soya, peanuts and tree nuts. We cannot guarantee any bake is free from traces of these. Every box goes out with a full ingredient and allergen label. Tell us about allergies in your order before we confirm. If you have a serious allergy, this kitchen may not be suitable.
Once you have the box
Please check it before you leave, or as soon as it is delivered. Milk cakes and the cheesecake must be refrigerated and eaten within three days. Brownies, blondies and cookies keep five days in an airtight tin. After handover, storage is your responsibility.
